Attendees reflect and recharge at the Rethinking Leadership conference

Nearly 300 people spent June 9 reflecting on team building, talent acquisition, change management, and other timely topics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Rethinking Leadership conference. Participants buzzed from room to room at Monona Terrace Convention Center to hear a wide range of perspectives from prominent speakers. The conference delved into leadership issues not often included in traditional seminars, encouraging discussion with longer-than-usual breaks between the 15 sessions.

Both aspiring and established leaders networked over lunch, in the bustling lobby, and by the big windows overlooking Lake Monona. They jotted down insights from speakers such as Oscar Mireles, director of the Omega School; Beth Bovis, a partner at the global management consultancy A.T. Kearney; and Nelson Soler, founder of the Multicultural Entrepreneurial Institute. They engaged in thought-provoking activities and evaluated their individual approaches. Most importantly, they gathered new ideas to try out in their own workplaces in both the public and private sectors.
